Sunflowers (in deep 6-packs)
Each of these pollenless Sunflowers is simply incredible!
Like the Marigolds, I grew them as part of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers seed trials a few years ago, and they’re like no Sunflowers I’ve ever seen — and florists love them! Sunflowers don’t like being transplanted if they’re too far along, so we have them for you at the perfect stage.
All of our selections are “pollenless” so they won’t drop a bunch of yellow pollen on your table and the flowers also last longer. There’s still a tad of pollen in the blooms though, and the pollinators (and gold finches) flock to them!
To EXTEND bloom time, plant these varieties at the same time: Sunrich Gold F1 and the 3 ProCut varieties. Sunrich blooms first, followed by the ProCut series. Mix in the other two varieties to add to the show!
OUR 2025 SELECTION
Double Quick Orange F1 - Why it’s named ‘orange’ I don’t know! It’s such a fun fully-double bright golden yellow sunflower with 4-5” blooms. Blooms early. 48-60”
ProCut Gold Lite DMR F1 - 4-6” pollenless blooms on a taller plant matures a bit later than our other varieties. The wider, more rounded petals are very refined looking. 62-80”
ProCut Orange F1 - If you’re looking for the classic sunflower — but one that’s pollenless and bred to be a superior performer in the garden and vase — this is it! Tall, with strong stems. 60-72”
ProCut White Lite F1 - What a sophisticated beauty! Single-stem plants have tall, strong stems and 4-6” pollenless blooms. Harvest flowers before the insects can get to them, just as petals begin to unfurl. 60-72”
Starburst (TM) Greenburst DMR F1 (branching) - Early blooming, 4-6” semidouble golden-yellow flowers on 12-24” stems. DMR means it’s downy mildew resistant. Downy mildew in sunflowers persists in infected soils and is especially problematic in cool, wet soils.
Sunrich Gold F1 - When I grew these for the seed trials, I vowed I’d never be without them! 4-6” pollenless double-ringed flowers are PERFECT. Harvest just as the petals unfurl. 48-60”
TO GROW
Except for Starburst (which is a branching variety), our sunflowers are all single stemmed, so when they’re finished blooming pull up the stalk and plant more seeds, or another flower, in the same spot. For Starburst, pinch out the top 6” of the growing stems when the plant is 18-24” tall and it will branch even more — giving you more flowers!
Space plants 4-6” in full sun. Days to maturity: 60-65’ ht: 4-6’
