Celosia (in deep 6-packs)

from $12.00
SOLD OUT

Celosias add DELIGHTFUL texture and color to bouquets — and this year, we’re again offering some of the new-to-the-world varieties of Floret Originals, along with 3 of my long-time favorites. Yes, the Floret varieties are more expensive (seed is more than 3x the price), but for anyone looking to add something unique and exquisite to your cutting garden, they will NOT let you down.

Celosia are super easy to grow and an excellent way to attract LOTS of pollinators to your garden! They are excellent cut-and-come-again plants! The more you harvest, the more they bloom. Celosia is very long-lasting in bouquets, and in the garden.

Another plus: They will re-seed in your garden if the heads are left on the plant in the fall and you don’t use a pre-emergent herbicide like Preen.

OUR 2025 SELECTIONS

  • Autumn Blaze (Floret Originals) - This mix is a riot of rich fall tones, including coral, copper, bronze, cherry, rose gold, rhubarb, and amber. From a distance, it looks as if the plants are about to burst into flames! 32-52”

  • Coral Reef (Floret Originals) - Fan-shaped flower heads come in a range of orange, salmon, peach, raspberry, and marigold. One of the earliest celosias to flower. 32-48”

  • Glowing Embers (Floret Originals) - This mix comes in a warm range of copper, bronze, coral, smoky rose, muted tangerine, and gold velvety plumes that come in a variety of shapes and sizes. 32-52”

  • Dusty Rose (Floret Originals) - Fan-shaped blooms in soft blush with a rose wash and subtle silvery-green undertone, looking like sun-bleached velvet! Stems are a rich garnet-red — what a combination! 42-58”

  • Limonata (Floret Originals) - Plants have a vigorous branching habit, thrive in the heat, and produce an abundance of long, wispy creamy lime chartreuse spires that add a freshness to arrangements. 42-60”

  • Rose Gold (Floret Originals) - Stunning mix in the most unusual range of antique-looking rose gold, blush, and champagne plumes — they look as if they’ve been dusted with iridescent glitter. 36-42”

  • Sangria Mix (Floret Originals) - Rich, moody mix composed of towering deep grape-purple and rich, vivid magenta plumes — a fantastic addition to any jewel-toned color palette. 40-52”

  • Shimmer (New!) - Pastel blend with airy, shimmering plumes in a range of pink, peach, gold, and lime pastel hues with a sheen that seems to shimmer in the sunlight. ‘Shimmer’ has been in development by Johnny’s Selected Seeds since 2016. 36-48”

  • Celway Purple - I love how these vibrant ruby-magenta clusters of 2-4” flower spikes tuck easily into bouquets, adding a touch of sparkle and texture. In the garden, they are pollinator magnets. The flowering heads look and feel like velvet! 24-40”

  • Cramer’s Burgundy - I love how these vibrant ruby-magenta clusters of 2-4” flower spikes tuck easily into bouquets, adding a touch of sparkle and texture. In the garden, they are pollinator magnets. The flowering heads look and feel like velvet! 24-40”

HOW TO GROW

Celosia takes a LONG time to get growing from seed which is why these plants look small when you buy them — even though we’ve already been growing them for 8 weeks! That’s completely normal for Celosia. They will begin to lengthen and fill out once they’re planted and settle into your garden.

When plants are about 12” tall, we strongly recommend that you PINCH out (snip off) the top few inches of the growing stems — it’s well worth it! They will branch out and you’ll get SO MANY more flowers!

Plant 9-18” apart in full sun. Ht: 24-46+”.
