Lisianthus Corelli Sugoi (New!)

$21.00
SOLD OUT

Lisianthus are magnificent EXTREMELY long-lasting and fragrance-free flowers! Highly sought after by florists and in-the-know home gardeners.

In the floral industry, it’s well known that the Japanese grow the FINEST Lisianthus in the world and Corelli Sugoi is the NEWEST iteration of their famous Corelli series. In Japanese, Sugoi means “Oh WOW!” (a complement not given lightly!)

Regular Corelli Lisianthus are very ruffled with open centers — the goal with Corelli Sugoi was to breed a ruffled series with large double flowers fully petaled to the middle. That’s definitely been achieved!

Sold as 6 ready-to-transplant seedlings (all the same color) in a super jumbo deep 6-pack

TO GROW — Full sun, 5-9” apart, height: 25-30”

Plants appreciate some support to keep the stems straight and we always grow them with Hortonova netting (available online or at some garden centers). When using netting, lay it down first with a stout stake or bamboo pole at each corner to keep it taunt. As the plants grow, just move the netting up higher on the poles. Feed after every weeding with a fertilizer for flowers.

Lisianthus LOVE to be planted when soil temperatures are still on the cool side. They may not look like they’re growing at first — our plants are already 4 months old —but this is when they send down a strong root system to support their beautiful blooms in the high heat of summer.

Lisianthus rarely return a second year.

FOR CUT FLOWERS

Be sure to snip off the top bloom on each stem (it’s perfect for a bud vase) when it first opens (to send more energy to the remaining blooms). Once several blooms open, harvest the rest of the stem to within 3-4” above the ground — the big buds will open in the vase and you’ll have flowers for 2-3 weeks! Often Lisianthus will send up a second flush of flowers in late summer, which will be shorter than the first flush.

FULFILLMENT OPTIONS
