For lots of people, the holidays aren’t complete without blooming Paperwhites in their home — and for everyone who doesn’t like that strong, musty-sweet smell of typical Paperwhites, we have you covered!
We’ve tested every variety of Paperwhite in the world, searching for one that doesn’t have that stinky strong smell — and Paperwhite ‘Nir’ is our TOP CHOICE! It has larger flowers, a much softer fragrance and shorter stems … it’s perfect!
For this garden, we pot up as many of our huge budded-up Paperwhites as we can possibly fit into our favorite concrete bowl and top it off with moss.
AND once the Paperwhites are finished with their show, just toss them onto the compost (they don’t re-bloom well, so don’t waste your time trying to save them for next year) and REPLANT the bowl with other small plants — such as a forest of little ferns, or succulents (check out our photo!) or go seasonal with spring flowers, like primroses.
