It sounds like magic, but it is pure botany! We select only the largest, premium jumbo bulbs. These massive bulbs contain all the moisture, nutrients, and energy they need inside themselves to produce spectacular, giant blooms. Our artisan gloss seals that moisture in, forcing the bulb to look upward and focus entirely on growing beautiful flowers.
-
To keep everything looking pristine and encourage maximum blooming from your bulb, simple grooming is key. As individual flowers fade, gently snip or pinch off the spent blossoms (they’re easy to snap off). Once an entire stem has finished all of its blooms, cut that entire stem off near the base of the bulb. This prevents the bulb from wasting resources on old growth and signals it to channel all of its energy into sending up the next round of magnificent stems!
-
I bet you’ll already see green sprouts (stems and/or leaves) emerging right out of the bulb! Typically, your amaryllis will burst into full, magnificent bloom within 3 to 5 weeks of arrival, depending on the warmth and light of your room. They love bright light and temperatures 65-70F to grow.
-
Because the root system is permanently sealed inside our decorative artisan lacquer and gold leaf base to make it a self-sufficient centerpiece, these bulbs are designed to be enjoyed as a spectacular, single-season living art piece. Once the final blooms have faded, you can discard the bulb — or remove the foliage and keep it as a beautiful holiday ornament.
It’s also possible to gently remove the design and wax and plant your bulb in regular potting soil in a clay pot (keeping the top ½ of the bulb out of the soil), and put it in a sunny place in your home until it’s nice and warm outside. It may take a couple of years for it to re-bloom again. Order a free copy of our Amaryllis Growing Instructions on our Shop site.

Place your centerpiece on any stable, flat surface indoors — a kitchen island, dining table, mantel, entryway console, desk, etc. For the straightest, strongest stems, keep it in a bright room with indirect sunlight and away from freezing drafts or direct heating vents. Give it a quarter turn every few days to keep it from leaning toward the light.
