While many peonies drop their petals shortly after being cut, 'Command Performance' was engineered specifically for the floral industry. It features a long vase life, and its petals uniquely refuse to drop — even as the bloom eventually declines.
AND, rather than the blooms just fading out as they age, the enormous 7-9” double-bomb flowers shift beautifully across an entire spectrum — opening a vibrant cardinal red, shifting to intense dark pink and coral, then softening to shades of salmon and peach, next slowly fading into a rich cream and, finally, to pristine white. HOW TO GROW
We include complete growing advice with every order but for now, plan to plant your peony roots in the ground right away in a spot that receives full sun and has good drainage. In very hot climates, peonies don’t mind some afternoon shade.
If you can’t plant them right away, keep the roots in their bag in a cool, dark and dry spot. A cool garage should work great. But don’t forget about them — they need to be planted before the ground freezes.
Peonies thrive in Zones 3 to 8.
